It is usually predicted that upper paleolithic cave paitings are done by leaders of shaman tribes so cave paintings that we saw on the cave walls are the creative work of people who belived in shamanism.

It really got me questioning that how those paintings got affected from shamanism? What are the differences between shamanist paintings and other peoples paintings?

In my opinion only religious rituels and their expression styles may differ from other paintings. Just like any other people, shamans did not find the cave painting. They just expressed their surroundings by imitating them on their walls. The images may mean almost everything but most commonly it is predicted that shamanists draw animal pıctures to call good spirits and have a beneficial hunt. And there is a possibility that animal paintings represents the soulof the killed animals in order to honor them for feeding the tribe.
